Your day never leaves your Mac. Here is the whole policy, in plain language.
The short version: Vespora has no networking code in it, so nothing it records can leave your Mac. Screen captures are read for their text and dropped in the same moment, never saved. What stays behind is your own day, in one local file you can delete.

Vespora keeps the record of your own day: the time blocks it observed, with the times each one covers and the activity and project it belongs to, plus the activities and projects you set up, their billing rates, and your settings. All of it lives in one local database on your Mac. Vespora does not store screenshots, does not store the text it read off your screen, and does not store keystrokes.

While recording is on, Vespora periodically captures your main display, reads the text visible on it, and discards the image in the same moment. Nothing about that capture is written to disk. The release build has no code path that saves a screen image at all, and captures are held in a form the app cannot write out. Only your main display is captured.

macOS asks you for Screen Recording the first time Vespora needs it, and you can take that permission back at any time in System Settings. Vespora uses it for one purpose: reading the current contents of your main display so it can describe what you were working on. Recent versions of macOS re-check the permission roughly once a month for every app that holds it, which is Apple’s behaviour rather than the app’s. Capture is switched off when you first launch Vespora, and a visible status pill shows whenever it is running.

To pause itself when you are not there, Vespora reads a single number from the system: how many seconds have passed since your last input. It never reads what that input was. Vespora does not request or use the macOS Accessibility API, so it cannot see your keystrokes, and it does not.

Vespora contains no networking code and holds no network-client permission, so it cannot send anything anywhere. There is no account system, no analytics, no crash reporter, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs of any kind. The narration is written by Apple’s on-device models that ship with macOS, on your own Mac. Nothing about your day leaves the machine, and no data is shared with anyone.

Vespora’s database sits inside the app’s own sandbox container at ~/Library/Containers/com.capataina.vespora/Data/Library/Application Support/Vespora/vespora.sqlite. It stays there until you remove it. Deleting the app removes its container and everything Vespora recorded with it, and deleting that container folder clears your history while leaving the app in place. Because nothing is stored anywhere else, there is no copy of it for anyone to hand back or delete on your behalf.

Vespora is in active development, so its behaviour will keep moving. If what it stores or how it works changes, this page is updated and the date above changes with it.
