How can we help?

It keeps track of your working day on its own. Vespora watches what you do, describes each stretch in a plain sentence, sorts the time into your own categories, attributes it to the project it belongs to, and turns the result into a per-project invoice. All of it happens on your Mac.

A Mac running macOS 26 or later. Vespora writes its narration with Apple’s built-in on-device models, and those models arrive with macOS 26, so earlier versions cannot run it. It installs as a normal app with a small menu bar companion.

Neither. There is no sign-up, no API key to paste, and no networking code in the app at all. It works the same with your Mac offline.

One: Screen Recording, through the standard macOS prompt. Vespora needs it to see what is on your screen so it can work out what you were doing. It asks for nothing else.

Recent versions of macOS re-check that permission roughly once a month for every app that holds it. That is Apple’s rule, not Vespora’s, and there is no way for an app to switch it off. Grant it again and Vespora picks up where it left off.

No. Capture starts switched off. You turn it on when you are ready, and a status pill sits in view the whole time it is recording, so you never have to guess whether it is on.

Every so often it takes a snapshot of your screen, reads the text on it, and throws the picture away in the same moment. The Mac’s built-in AI turns what it read into one sentence about that stretch of time, and that sentence is what you see.

Like a person describing your afternoon. Two of its own examples: “2h deep work on Image Browser, cycling between Cursor, Ghostty and the running app.” And: “20 min on Reddit while a build ran.”

Only your main display. Anything on a second screen is not captured and not recorded.

An activity says what kind of time it was: distraction, daily use, work, or deep work. A project says what the time was for, and each project carries its own billing rate. Every block gets one of each, which is how the same hour can be deep work and also billable to a particular client.

Vespora notices the idle stretch and stops counting. You choose how patient it is: off, five minutes, fifteen minutes, or an hour. Fifteen minutes is the default.

Yes. Vespora shows your day as a histogram and a timeline, with history charts for the stretch behind it, so you can see where the hours actually went.

It only counts time it observed. Gaps stay unclaimed, and the rule does not care why the gap is there: awake time with nothing observed is exactly as unclaimable as sleep. Nothing is rounded up to fill a hole.

An invoice for one project, as an A4 PDF. You choose the billing period, and you can add a discount and milestone rows before it is written. There is no CSV or JSON export in this version.

Not in this version. Editing a recorded block is not built yet, so for now the honest answer is that the day reads as it was recorded.

In one SQLite database inside the app’s own container on your Mac: ~/Library/Containers/com.capataina.vespora/Data/Library/Application Support/Vespora/vespora.sqlite. It holds your time blocks, your activities and your projects.

No. A capture is read for its text and dropped within the same moment, and the release build has no code that writes an image to disk. The database holds no screenshots, no captured text, and no keystrokes.

No. It never asks for Accessibility access and never sees what you type. To tell whether you have stepped away it reads one number from the system: how long since your last input. Never what the input was.
