Nothing about your typing leaves your Mac. Here is the whole policy, in plain language.
The short version: TypeNotch has no network code and no network permission, so nothing can go anywhere. It keeps one local file describing how you type, that file is not a keystroke log, and two clicks delete it.

TypeNotch keeps one profile file on your Mac, plus your settings. The profile holds a running summary of how you type: pace and accuracy figures over key pairs, key trios, word lengths, individual words, and finger zones, together with a bounded tail of your most recent 500 word samples. Settings are stored separately in macOS user defaults.

It is not a keystroke log. Individual keystrokes are never written down, the word samples carry no timestamps, and the tail is capped at 500 entries, so it cannot grow into a record of what you typed. The profile does persist between launches, because a trainer that forgets you cannot adapt to you.

Only while the notch panel holds keyboard focus. TypeNotch does not install a global event tap and cannot see what you type anywhere else on your Mac. Hover away from the notch and it stops reading altogether.

TypeNotch contains no networking code. The Mac App Store build ships with the app sandbox as its only entitlement, which means it holds no network client permission, so macOS would refuse it a connection even if such code existed. Nothing about your typing leaves your Mac.

There are no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporter, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. TypeNotch has no dependencies of any kind. Nobody else receives anything, because there is nothing that sends.

Your profile is not synced anywhere. It is a local file inside the app’s own sandbox container, and TypeNotch stores nothing in iCloud and nothing in the Keychain.

The profile is a single file at ~/Library/Containers/com.capataina.typenotch/Data/Library/Application Support/TypeNotch/profile.json. Two clicks in the stats wing delete it and start the engine over. Deleting the app removes its container, and with it the profile and your settings.

The App Store privacy label for TypeNotch reads Data Not Collected. That is the whole disclosure, and it is accurate because there is no channel through which anything could be collected.
